Bad Santa

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!!! Just wanted to give you all some love for checking out the page and showing the show the love that you have this year. It has really been a trememdous year for us here. With the kick off of the show in April and this site in May, we plan on building and really expanding this into a site that is here for the people. Here is Bad Santa the movie that I recently saw over the holidays for the first time and I will say this is funny as hell. RIP to Bernie Mac and John Ritter. And we´ll see you in the new year.

Lords of the Underground Interview with D-Nice

True Hip-Hop Stories: Lords of The Underground from D-Nice on Vimeo.

this interview right here is so FRESH. REally. Respect due to the legendary D-Nice, on the serious tip, he is really bringing it with his true hip hop stories. The first one is with Master Ace, which you have to find on your own :), and this is the second one with Lords of the Underground. disfrutala.

Le Le -- Ich Clack Dich

Le Le - Ich Clack Dich

Here is a track I found online while I was searching for some new music to play in my shows. It is from germany, and it is a laidback electronic gem, to say the least. I have no idea what they are talking about, but I do know that I am going to be looking for this track so that I can try and mix it in to some of the new sets for The Session. I really hope that you like.....disfrutala.

Dexter -- One of the best shows on

Here is one of the best shows on right now. Since I have been out of the States I have really lost touch with what is going on and a friend of mines father came here to visit last year. He started talking about this show, and we watched a couple of episodes. Now I am totally hooked on this show. It is really well written, and the cast is great. This is the season finale, which turned out not how I expected it. But that is what I like, its unpredicitablility. The weird premise of a serial killer, that is good. Great job by Showtime and all of those involved in this show. I dont watch a lot of tv, but I do make it to seeing this every week. So I thought that I would give you the season finale in hopes that you become an addict of this show like I have. Disfrutala.

Banlieue 13 Ultimatum

Now I can really say that I havent been excited about a movie in a while. This one is the joint right here. The first one is one of my favorite movies of all time. If you have not seen Banlieue 13, you are sleeping on a good action flick and I demand you go and rent it now. It was one of the first films that I downloaded off the net. Anyway February come the sequel, which is something I am definitely going to check out. It is in french, but they do have the subtitles to it. Open your mind and check this out. This is how an action movie should be.

The Promised Land

This is the new Young Chris.....now I have been up on Chris for a minute....check out the old post never die.....he is set to be one of the new artists on Jay-Z RocNation label. Which is a really good look for Chris, he really got that flow, and he is the next up to bat and hold it down where Jay left off. So he has been on a total internet take over, from the 30 freestyles last month to the random videos being leaked. He keeping his name in the street and doing a good job doing it. This is a nice joint right here.

Jurassic 5 --- Ducky Boy

The weird thing was I was just talking about this group two weeks ago on the show....asking what they had been up to, reminising on their music. I played Quality Control and talked about how I used to rock that everywhere, I would mix it with the drum and bass.....it sounds amazing mixed with that. Anyway, its good to see they are still doing their thing, especially with the Cut Chemist behind the decks, you know its all good. Plus I truly am a sucker for animation and hip hop mixed. I dont know what it is, but to me those make the perfect combination....ALWAYS.

The Future of THESESSION.TK

Here is the goal that we are striving for here at THESESSION. Our studio at www.santiagoradio.cl is not like this one.....close, but there is no view of the countryside. But we are working on getting it there. I have been in full inspiration mode since seeing this, and working my ass off to try and get this thing off the ground. So far so good. We are now looking for a place to hold a weekly event, that way we can get more pub for the station, and have live transmissions from this place once a week. We will see what happens, but in the meantime enjoy this clip about sonic radio in Ibiza. Dont forget to check out In the Session with Mike Hee every Saturday from 6-9pm (5-8pm eastern)on www.santiagoradio.cl and The Sesh every Monday from 9-11 pm GMT (5-7pm eastern, 6-8pm santiago time)on www.citybeatradio.org

Im a learn ya

Wafeek - I'mma Learn Ya [Official Music Video] from Marc Kharrat on Vimeo.

Yo this joint right here is nice and smooth, with the LA backdrop, this has that definite west coast feel on it. Really feeling what he is talking about in this song. Some new joint to bump in the whip when you riding around, or something really just to chill too at the crib, this is the one.

The Right -- DJ IDEE featuring Jean Grae and Wreckonize

"The Right" HD -- Dj Idee (Feat. Jean Grae & Wrekonize) from Baggins Family on Vimeo.

Here is a really cool video from DJ IDee with Jean Grae and Wreckonize. I am a huge Jean Grae fan, she is one of the most slept on Emcees in the game. Kinda glad that she didnt retire, good to see her back on her grind. Hopefully we can get some new material from her soon, but in the meantime......disfrutala

Primeridian ft Naledge -- Bucktown (city of wind)

Primeridian feat. Naledge- Buck Town (City of wind) from Pugs Atomz on Vimeo.

CHI-TOWN stand UP!!! This one is really on hit and I was kinda sleeping on Naledge, but this one is really on hit. Got me reminiscing about times chillin at Red Dawg, which was in Bucktown, and shout to Steve and Gia who lived in Bucktown and I would always go and visit them. Sound of the streets. disfrutala.

Miss Memory --- Convinced

Convinced-Miss Memory DIRECTORS CUT from Convinced Music on Vimeo.

Here is a new song from a rapper named convinced. I dont really know where he is from yet, but this video and this song is really on point. It had me thinking about all the past loves that I have had and wondered about them and where they are, and what they are doing. Nice song though on the real. Peep it out.

This right here looks amazing. I love MF Doom. The clip is from the upcoming album. This is really on some other shit. I hope you enjoy this.

So Fresh

Evidence and Alchemist on this joint. THis is off Evidences new album, The Layover. Yo this cat has been heavy on the net lately really, and this joint is straight California. Nice joint to blaze to and chill. Big up Dialated Peoples.

Talib Kweli on KUBE 93's Sound Session from DJ Hyphen on Vimeo.

Real Talk on this. For real. The business.

Pharoahe Monch

This is one of the best emcees in the game, Pharoahe Monch. I have been on this dude this Internal Affairs, back in the days of Rawkus. I love seeing that he is still coming with that heat, and always keeping his lyrics raw, and keeping his style on point.

Idle Worship -- Black Snake Moan

Idle Warship "Black Snake Moan" from The ICU on Vimeo.

This is Rees, Talib Kweli, and I think the other girls name is Graf if I am not mistaken....but I could be wrong :) anyway I was a huge Rees fan back in the late 90´s with her first album.....which had Golden Boys......she got slept on hard back then, and it is good to see that she is still making music. This is a nice little club joint they did. I like the video also, it is kind of raw!!

The Renaissance

Q-Tip - "Renaissance Rap" from Three/21 Films on Vimeo.

Sorry it has been a minute since I last updated this. Been going through some things. Happy Thanksgiving to all of those in the States. FAmily and Friends.....you know I am thankful for all of you. With that being said, it is time for the Renaissance. Q Tip really brings it on his latest venture, and if you have not picked this one up yet, you really are sleeping. I love this video too. The song brings back the time of ATCQ all that is missing is Phife Dawg coming in on the second verse. Disfrutala

14 November 2008

Give the Drummer Sum

Here is the new video from Black Milk called Give the Drummer Sum. THis is one of my favorites off the critically acclaimed TRONIC which is out now, and if you dont have it then you are really sleeping. This album brings back that raw sound hip hop has lost in recent years. Production is on point as well as the lyrics. Black Milk is really holding down Detroit and the Midwest.

07 November 2008

Ojalai

Calle 13 is one of my favorite groups because of their sense of humor and music. Residente and Visitante are two of the most innovating people pushing the reggaeton envelope. This is Residente and Voltio in Chulin Culin CHunFly.....this is a great video and the music bumps.....you cant help but dance off this.

05 November 2008

The Obama Era has begun......

I believe this is a very great moment in the history of the United States. I believe that yesterday realized the dreams of many of our ancestors, and the fight of so many others in the past, to make things equal. To make this possible. I am so grateful to all of those in the past who gave their lives so that me and those who come after me can be free and live the American Dream. Thank you. and I am extremely proud to know that I was around to see the first Black U.S. President. Barak Obama. CHI-Town Stand up!!!

03 November 2008

Dead Prez dropping jewels

One of the most prolific, and underrated groups in Hip Hop. M1 and Stickman aka Dead Prez, really dropping some knowledge in this one. Cant wait for that Information Age to drop. I will say that listening to Lets Get Free really changed my way of thinking about some things. Really changed that way I look at how Black people were treated in the States, and how its deeply rooted in everything, from education, to general concepts in the media. BIG UP to DEAD PREZ.

Munk and Shazam -- Down in LA

MUNK "Down in L.A." (Shazam Version) from Leroy Hanghofer on Vimeo.

I heard this song and I saw this video and I thought, wow that is great. I love the fact that she is in the swimming pool and it is down backwards. Crazy concept but it really works with the song. Definitely has that LA feel to it. Brings thoughts of summer to mind and late night parties, that go on for days.

I GET HIGH

Happy Halloween!! Here is the new joint by Kurupt. I really am feeling this joint right here. Its like bringing back the early 90´s ..... that Cali sound. Nice to see Kurupt doing his thing still and not falling off.

How to make Hash

I am all about documentaries on how to make stuff and on how to do things. This one is about how to make hash, and it is very interesting. This is also the treat for your halloween. Be safe out there ya´ll.

The Fury -- dir by Brian De Palma

I am a sucker for cheesy horror movies. This one looks like the JAWN though!!! HAHAHA at how he blows up!! WOW you gotta love the 80´s look to it. I dont know if this is an old film or a new one. I just know that it looks off the hook.

13 October 2008

How High 2 and the Blackout 2!! That right there is some good news. I miss them Red and Mef rockin it for the smokas!! Smokas stand up!! HAHAH at I lost a lot of jobs because I am a smoker!! Zeitgeist 2 Addendum

Here is a copy of the sequel to Zeitgeist. One of the most controversial movies I have ever seen. I have not checked this one out yet but I will be doing so and I will be filling you in on what I think about what it has to say. The first one, really had me on some shit, and really thinking outside of the box and wondering about what is going on with our current government. This one I am told deals with the current problems and how we can solve those problems. I would say take time out and see what this video is all about. If you have not seen the first one.....go to www.zeitgeistmovie.com and there should be a link to the first one. Watch and be informed.

The Transporter 3

I put a preview for this up a month ago, and I still want to see it. I loved the first one, and I thought that the second one was corny, so I am hoping that they come with it on the third installment. It is like a blue collar james bond. I like that feel that he has to this, even though on some level it is the corny Hollywood twist about them not being able to leave the car......Audi must be paying a pretty penny to get this film made. I aint hating I am just saying. Anyway enjoy the clip. Disfrutala.

10 October 2008

Eskrima

Here is a new style that I am interested in learning. It is the Philipine style of martial arts called Eskrima. I think this right here is some raw footage of how effect this art form is against real situations. WOW!

This looks tight!!

This is a clip from the new Max Payne movie starring Mark Wahlberg. This clip looks tight!! I miss action movies with great special effects. I am not really a gamer so I dont really know that much about Max Payne, I do know that this is a game that they turned into a movie, but if they are staying true to the game, that I dont know either, but I do know that this clip is FIRE, and it makes me want to at least check out where it all came from.

I aint even on yet.....

This right here is my JAM!! CHI TOWN STAND UP! This GLC song came out on a Kanye West mixtape like a year ago. And it has been in rotation ever since. This is like my theme song for before I get on the show, or before we head out to the club, or while driving through the city. This right here is no joke, and I cant wait for the new GLC project that they have coming out. Disfrutala.

09 October 2008

Radio Thang

Here is a scene from the Ibiza radio station. Kind of like the one that we do here. By the way you really should be checking me out, www.santiagoradio.cl, every Saturday 6-9pm eastern. You know what it is....in the session with Mike Hee.

06 October 2008

Universal Mind Control

Hey, I saw this today and I was like yeah!! I had been playing the song on the radio for a minute now, but now they have finally brought out the video. I am really liking the fact that Common changed up the style and went with The Neptunes for his production on this album. I have been a huge Common fan since the days of can I borrow a dollar. Here is his new joint off the invincible summer. Disfrutala.

28 September 2008

The Police

I heard this song today, and it reminded me of the times that I spent in Antofagasta, and I was really missing some things from up there. And all of the experiences that I went through. The desert is an amazing place once you get past all of the obvious. An extreme enviroment. A great place to find yourself. Big ups to Carlos, Marco, Galo, Hernan T, Klaux, Mike T, and everyone else I met during my stay in the north of Chile. This one is for ya´ll.....remembering so many drunken nights in the desert....completely out of my mind, and this playing from the car stereo looking up at the star, and constellations I had never seen before. And made me realize how small we are in the scale of things. Big ups to all of you for making inspiring my love for Chile.

25 September 2008

This is funny right here!!! :)

I saw this and I died laughing, this one is good right here. I love when people come up with creative ideas, or doing something out of the ordinary. I hope you enjoy this one!!

24 September 2008

A visit from DJ Babu

Now I got mad love for DJ Babu, and I was loving all the stuff he did with Dilated Peoples....big up to Iris Science and Evidence. Here is a DJ Babu on the Ill Doctrine radio show, this is some old footage, but he beat juggles something SERIOUS on this one. The song is Emotions ¨Blind Alley¨.

Slacker Rising

Here is a new Michael Moore movie that is coming out soon. I will have more on where you will be able to download this film for free. And if you are in the U.S. you really need to register to vote and vote for OBAMA this November.

Carl Cox and Felix da House Cat

Here is a clip from the Tomorrowland Festival in Belgium. Looks amazing, I love the fact that there are a lot of worldwide festivals now. I am so used to going to the DEMF, and WMC, and all of those in the States, but I like the fact that the Dance world is a more global market, and I like the fact that djs from all markets are going and getting their shine on playing to people all over the world. That is where it is at. Big ups to all of those who still put on parties on the underground level. Who still book local djs at the big shows. Who still make parties for the music and the togetherness. The Session will always have love for those type of underground, grassroot movements.

Q TIP Move

Q-Tip - Move's Hidden Meaning from Three/21 Films on Vimeo.

I came across this today and I was really excited about hearing this new track, and seeing what will come of this. I love what Q tip does so I think this will be no different.

BOLT

Okay I thought I would lighten it up a bit with a trailer for the new animated film called Bolt. I seriously have been into the anime for a minute now, I really love it.....its like an alternate way of expressing an idea. I would love to maybe create one, but I think the time and effort in creating one would be a little overwhelming for me.

Language: A Key Mechanism of Control.

Language: A Key Mechanism of Control

As you know, one of the key points in the GOPAC tapes is that "language matters." In the video "We are a Majority," Language is listed as a key mechanism of control used by a majority party, along with Agenda, Rules, Attitude and Learning. As the tapes have been used in training sessions across the country and mailed to candidates we have heard a plaintive plea: "I wish I could speak like Newt."

That takes years of practice. But, we believe that you could have a significant impact on your campaign and the way you communicate if we help a little. That is why we have created this list of words and phrases.

This list is prepared so that you might have a directory of words to use in writing literature and mail, in preparing speeches, and in producing electronic media. The words and phrases are powerful. Read them. Memorize as many as possible. And remember that like any tool, these words will not help if they are not used.

While the list could be the size of the latest "College Edition" dictionary, we have attempted to keep it small enough to be readily useful yet large enough to be broadly functional. The list is divided into two sections: Optimistic Positive Governing words and phrases to help describe your vision for the future of your community (your message) and Contrasting words to help you clearly define the policies and record of your opponent and the Democratic party.

Please let us know if you have any other suggestions or additions. We would also like to know how you use the list. Call us at GOPAC or write with your suggestions and comments. We may include them in the next tape mailing so that others can benefit from your knowledge and experience.

Optimistic Positive Governing Words

I dont really know what to say about this. I am really on a conspiracy theory kick today....but I read this and I found this to be a bit disturbing. Coming from the Republican Party. Kind of sad to know that all of this is just a way to con the people into voting for something else. A kind of mind control. This is sad. And if this is true, it really makes you wonder, who really has our back?? The back of the people?? Shouldnt we all be in this together?? I am just saying........

Bill Cooper and Behold A Pale White Horse

I love the conspiracy theorists in the world, because they keep those who are doing bad things and hiding things in check. And it really is good fodder for great conversations. I dont know if I believe everything that he says, you know, I would have to see these things for myself, but I cant help denying all of the reports of these types of things happening. I just dont know for sure. But I do know this.....

William Cooper was an underground radio host, activist, and known for the best selling book....Behold the Pale white horse. He was killed suspectedly for his knowledge of 911 two months before it happened. Check out these videos, and I hope that they spark some interest into looking into these types of things for yourself.

LHC

I was talking to a couple of my friends about this very topic a couple of days ago. It was said that this machine could create tiny black holes, and that was causing a lot people who oppose this experiement to worry. It was said that it could cause the end of the world. But listen to what they say they can create......meaning they have already done tests, and we are just now hearing about what the results are. He said they made worm holes, where it could be possible to travel from one point in space to another, or to another time or dimension. This type of thing is dangerous, but it is also a very interesting experiment to research. I think we should be looking at these types of things objectively, yes we are like the old explorers finding something new, but lets not make the same mistake they made, by destroying what was, in order to create something they think should be.

Im a PC

Now we all know how commericials really suck, but this one, caught my eye. Look I love the internet for that reason, it put the power back into the hands of the consumer. But I like this commerical because I am a PC guy, and as much as all of my friends tell me how much MAC is better, I love my computer. I love working on a PC. I have used a MAC before, but my PC does the same thing, its good for what I do, you know. I am proud of being a PC.

REDMAN LIVE

Redman Performing @ The Loft in Atlanta from Broccolicity TV on Vimeo.

I dont have to keep saying this....REDMAN is one of the most underrated Emcees in the game on the REAL!!! ANyway I have to big up Funk Doc anytime I can, and if I ever run into this fool we will be smoking a BIG BLUNT"!!! on the REAL!!

Fears of the Dark

Here is a film that is going to be released called Fears of the DArk. It really looks amazing by the trailer. I am really liking that people are thinking outside of the box in creating new films and anime. I hope that this trend keeps going. Disfrutala.

Tronic

Here is Black Milk in the recording studio making a track off the upcoming Tronic album. You all know that I am a huge J Dilla fan (RIP) but with that I have become a huge Black MIlk fan. He is from Detroit, but has that soul that is missing in Hip Hop right now. People sleep on him but he got some joints under his belt. He would be like the new age Pete Rock. Disfrutala.

Que Onda Loco??

What is good everyone?? I am sorry that it has been a minute since I last updated this. First off it was my birthday, and I have been celebrating and kicking it since the month began!! Really check out my myspace page in a couple of days once I get all the pics together. Been working a lot on the radio show and just trying to get things back together. This a clip from Cypress Hill, one of my favorite rap groups.....this is where they do How I could just kill a man in espaƱol. That was the first song that got me into Cypress and B Real. I heard that B Real has a new solo album coming out, so I would say pick that up once it comes out.

Gettin Up

Whats good? Sorry it has been a minute since I was able to update this, been traveling, had my birthday, getting ready to start university again, trying to get gigs in clubs, just been on my grind, but I am back at the computer again. Here is the new video from Q Tip....called Gettin up. I had posted the song last month or maybe two months ago. But here is the video. Disfrutala.

Ong Bak 2

Here is ANOTHER sequel that is coming out in the near future. This one is the next chapter in a saga called Ong Bak. The original is off the hook, and I have it at home with the tagalan and english subtitles. This one looks like they took the story to a whole nother level, with more fighting and crazy stunts. I must admit that I am a sucker for a good kung fu flick with crazy fight scenes. and if this one is as good as the first, which still has some classic fight scenes that no one has been able to match, then Ong Bak 2 will be something that we should all really check out. disfrutala

Fast and Furious 4

Now you know how I feel about sequels, but this one is one that I could not help but post. I thought that they were done with this series, but they brought back out the old cast to try it again. It looks decent, with some really good action, but if they go the route of the cop looking for a fugitive, that will be tired. I really hope they don't go there. So here's to hoping they breathe new life into an old movie.

Enjoy!!

Transporter 3

I really like the first one, and the second one I thought was kind of corny, but this one, which is the third installment of the Transporter looks like it is going to be really good. There is no release date as I know of at this point but I will say that I am really excited about checking this one out. Disfrutala

RIP Aaliyah

I cant believe it, but it has been 7 years since the passing of Aaliyah, and wow how time flies. She lost her life in a plane crash in the Bahamas with 7 of her friends and co workers. This is a video dedication to her, one of my favorites songs by her. Also you can see the legacy she has left on the game, and a spot that will never be filled. Aaliyah you were one in a million, and more than a woman to all of us. YOu are still deeply missed. And even though I never got the chance to meet her, I was influenced by her music and style. This one is for LiLi.... RIP Baby Girl!!

The House Chronicles Episode II (THC2) Hi Fidelity

http://www.zshare.net/audio/17581526bd82f85d/

Here is the new mixtape that I am releasing the next couple of months. The first version of this did really well, and so many people have been asking me about the sequel, so I thought I would put it out and give the people what they want. This one is more potent than the last, with a mix of the new and the old, it definitely delivers. I really hope you all enjoy!! disfrutala!!

Rock the Bells

This is Red and Mef on the rock the bells tour this year. This was one show I would have loved to have checked out. They should do a world tour, because there are many hip hop heads around the world. I will say that going to the method man concert here in Chile last year was really off the chain, so seeing this mad me realize how dope these two are as a duo. Blackout 2 coming soon BITCHES!!!

This is the reunion of the legendary A Tribe Called Quest. This is one the most influencial hip hop groups of all time. For the first time in 10 years the fellas got back together and rocked it on stage in San Bernadino, California. YOu gotta love that man, all for original members of a tribe called quest ....RIP DILLA!! Anyway this is refreshing to see because, if they are on good enough terms to perform together, then you know they are recording together. Would love to hear what they have cooking up in the studio. Dont forget to get the Renaissance by Qtip which should be out I think September 2. Disfrutala

Five Deadly Venoms

Here is the 1978 movie the Five Deadly Venoms, one of the Shaw Brothers production. I am a huge kung fu fan, and this is one of the movies that I would consider a classic. This, along with Shogun Assassin, Chinese Connection.....and I can go on and on but this one is for you to check out. Disfrutala.

Guy Ritchie and RockNRolla

I dont know what it is about this movie, but I am really interested in seeing what it has to offer. It has Thandie Newton and Ludacris.....two of my favorite entertainers (you know I have a lot of people that I am into :) but it seems like it would be a really interesting flick to check out. I posted a preview of this earlier, but here is a mini interview from the Associated Press of Guy Ritchie talking about the process of making a film, writing and directing. Very interesting and insightful. Definitely a must see when it hits theaters. Disfrutala.

The Martinez Brothers

Here is the an interview with some new upcoming djs from New York called the Martinez Brothers. They really didnt give you a look into what type of music they play, its just more about the hype of a new artist. But nonetheless it is a decent interview, with a lot of party scenes from NY. Good looking to Djsounds.com for always being on the cusp of something new. disfrutala.

Sukiyaki Western Django clip

This is a strange clip I found online while I was surfing today. It has Quentin Tarantino, who is one of my favorite directors......it is a crazy clip but cool at the same time. Check it out. disfrutala

The Curse of the Golden Flower

Here is a copy of the movie The Curse of the Golden Flower. I was told this is a very good story, sad but good. I am going to check it out later on, I havent checked it out yet, been busy with the radio show and remixes, but I am going to try and check it out tonight. Enjoy and later on I will give my synopsis. Disfrutala.

Universal Mind Control

Here is a clip from Common (CHI Town Stand up!!) and the Neptunes. They are currently working on his latest project, Invincible Summer, which is coming out in September I think. I am really excited to hear what they have come up with in the studio. I liked what they did on the Electric Circus Lp which a lot feel is Common´s weakest word. IMO I feel as though I like the fact that he is secure enough in his own style that he can venture off and try different things. Only to come back and hit us up with the classic BE. I truly cant wait to hear what they have served up for us. Common said that this is just a different side of him. With that being said I think we are all excited about seeing what this other side has to offer. Disfrutala.

AmErykahs Junglist Soldier

AmErykah´s Junglist Soldier - thesession.tk

I found the accapella to this online a while ago, and I have been wanting to make a jungle remix of it since the first time I heard it. By the way if you dont own Nu AmErykah World war 4 you are slippin, and need to caught up. Anyway this is my rendition of the song Soldier which is on that album. I was really feeling the original but I thought a jungle version of it would be perfect, it has the perfect swing and sway to be a really nice dnb tune. It goes hard, with Ms Badu on the vocals drifting on top of heavy bass and fluttering drums. This one really is for those who remember the days of sparking the lighters for the djs when they play those big tunes. Disfrutala

Battle in Seattle

This is a movie that is coming out September 19,2008. It is about the WTO and when they came to Seattle in November of 1999. It is a story about a group of people, and how their lives were effected over the events that went on that day. It has an all star cast as well, which makes it better, because it then steps up the game of all the rest. I will definitely be checking for this one when it is released.

Coraline

This next clip is from a movie called Caroline, which is coming out next February. The stop animation looks amazing. It is written by the guy who directed A Nightmare Before Christmas. Neil Gaiman and Henry Selick bring the Coraline story to life. I have always been into animation.....The Simpsons, Family Guy, The Boondocks, Death Note, I can go on and on, but this movie would be a very interesting movie to see. I love when people make complex stories through animation. That is incredible, and extremely difficult to pull off correctly. This looks like it will be an amazing piece. Check it out......disfrutala.

Armand Van Helden

Yo you really have to give it up to djsounds.com for doing their thing and keeping it all the way real with interviewing the top djs in the industry. On the real, they really are keeping it underground and gully while at the same time showing a lot of taste and class. You know what I mean. Its high quality and its underground. That is what it is all about. Keeping the club life, just that....club life. Not over exposing the lifestyle turning it into a circus. Instead showing it in the professional light that it deserves. Now that you gotta love, and this rare interview of one of my all time favorites Armand Van Helden. I still remember my 25 birthday.....hearing Flowers.....and getting flowers from all of my friends that year. I miss you Skizz!! What up to Clutch also. Yeah so seeing this was real nice, just because he never really gets the props that he deserves IMO.

Coldcut LIVE

These are a group of individuals who have really been on the cutting edge of electronic music since the late 80´s. If you dont know about Coldcut, or was into them in the past.....Check this out. Great performace, and even greater visuals....WOW!! vous etes ici.... you are here.

For all the JUNGLISTS!!

Okay since I have been on a run today....I am going to keep on going and bring in some Andy C and Murdock. This is another selection from DJsounds.com. This one is from the 10 day out festival in Gent. They did coverage of the Drum and Bass scene. Its really cool because they go into where jungle has been and where it is headed. Really great interview. See I didnt forget about all my JUNGLISTS out there. disfrutala.

Deadmau5 very inspiring

I have really been in introspective mode and working on where else to take In the Session and the iSessions series that I am running right now. I have a lot of great ideass and I am implementing them now. Things just take time.....that really is it. So I am going to keep doing what I am doing and working on bringing some really good shit to you. Oh and by the way in this interview is with Deadmau5, and this clip also is very inspiring because he seems like a regular guy, who hasnt let success go to his head. Big up to Deadmau5 for that one! I am on the Ibiza kick today. It is just because it is so cold here today, being winter you know. I am still trying to bribe my friends to go riding with me one time this year before the season is up.....I really have that itch.....so in order to get my mind off of it. I think about djing in Ibiza.

Defected in Ibiza

All I can say about this is WOW! First off let me start by saying that you know you doing big things when your label has a set up in Ibiza. Secondly this is something to aspire to right there, traveling the world, doing what you love. That is what life is all about. I will say I dont like the plug for CDJ´s. I know they are tight and all, but lets keep VINYL alive man. For nostalgia at least. This is an interview with the Shapeshifters and it is really interesting. Next year The Session is going to Ibiza to do interviewing. Fuck that shit!!! Stay tuned......:)

Dance of the DeaD

I love movies like this!! A great B movie about zombies always makes my day. I am going to try and find this online, and if I do I will try and link it to the site. If not go to the video store and rent this. This would be great for those nights where you are staying in with close friends, great some great brew.....make some great pizza, spark up one, and laugh your ass off!!

This is another Cohen Brothers movie called Burn After Reading. Looks like it is going to be kinda funny. I was feeling the trailer for some reason.

Tropic Thunder

I am in full movie mode today I think. Here is a clip from the new Ben Stiller movie Tropic Thunder......this scene is really funny man!! You cant go full retarded!! HAHA!!

This is the Spirit Trailer.....another Frank Miller movie and it really looks off the charts man. Something that I will definitely be going to the theater to see. I like the fact that there are more and more really great movies coming out. Things that are on the cusp of something new.....people doing their own thing, and stepping outside of the mold and making new ones. disfrutala.

Convict Colony

I love when people do things outside of the box. This is something that I stumbled on today that I thought was very interesting, just in the treatment of the video and how he explains it as digging within oneself and finding ones own true worth. That was very profound coming from Saul Williams, but what else would you expect coming from him? Anyway this is a really good clip of him and the making of Convict Colony.....you know he should do the remix with Akon....now that would be something....but I am just saying...:) disfrutala.

My Secret Obsession

Here is a preview from the new Guy Ritchie movie called RocknRolla featuring Ludacris and Thandie Newton. This looks like it is going to be a really good film. I love a lot of Guy Ritchies films....and this follows along in his same rhythm of heist movies. But that is what I love about his films. They have a sense of humor, but tell a story. I will definitely be going out and checking this one out at the theaters.

Now this is an ad that was banned in the USA. And being the internet junkie that I am, I came across this, and wow! Eva Mendes is beautiful in this clip. Check it out. Oh yeah and you know my secret obsession......THE INTERNET!! disfrutala.

The Renaissance

Whats good? Stumbled across this surfing the net, and thought this was on hit. It is some footage of Q Tip djing, and Cons taping him. This is also a preview of the album that he has coming out September 9th called Live at the Renaissance. I will definitely be coppin that when it comes out. Support REAL music!! on the real, now that the power is back in the hands of the consumer, we should use that power wisely and let those coporate mofos know that it is on us. Nice to see Q Tip doing his thing too. Wish we could get another ATCQ album. But that is just me being a die hard backpacker thats all :). Disfrutala.

I'll Be Dat

Yo I saw this video and it brought back memories of when it had came out. I used to love this song. Anyway plus with me being a huge Redman fan....come on man, people are sleep on him. And he is highly underrated man. Anyway.....We got a new time and a new place of action. WEll the new and improved studios of www.santiagoradio.fm
In the Session is now on every Saturday from 6-9pm eastern, and we are still holding down the warm up on www.citybeatradio.org every Friday from 4-6pm eastern. Hopefully you are checking out one of the shows....if not we have our own channel now. In the sidebar to the left there is a splashcast arrow. That is our new iSessions channel which will have the mixes that you miss during the week, and any special mixes, videos, and interviews. We are trying to keep it new and improved and innovative for our listeners. Disfrutala.

DJ A TRAK

Rehearsal Space: A-Trak from videos222 on Vimeo.

As you know I am a huge Kanye West fan...CHI-TOWN STAND UP!! anyway this guy is Kanyes dj....and a winner of the dmc 1997 world championships. This is his story and what he has going on. Really interesting and inspiring all in the same. Check it out. disfrutala.

Wolfman

Here is a trailer of a new Wolfman movie that is coming out. It has Benicio del Toro and it looks like it is going to be a nice flick. I know I complain about there being no new ideas in Hollywood, I do like a fresh outlook on an old story though, especially when it is done right. For example the newly revived Batman franchise has really outdone itself with the Dark Knight. That was really off the hook. Anyway I am loving these new outlooks on old stories. If they can redo Frankenstein, that would be the JAWN!!! Disfrutala.

Everyone Nose

Now this is one of the things I miss about being in the States, is the accessiblity of new music. I am getting better at finding it and bringing it to you, but I do miss listening to this kind of stuff....especially with it being summer and all....anyway....with that being said this is a new joint from NERD. I am a huge Neptunes fan....been down with them since Superthug....I liked the SWV stuff too but that was before I knew who they were. This has got CHI-Town natives Kanye West and Lupe Fiasco, and Pusha T from the Clipse. The beat is banging and I think I am going to try and put this in my mix for next weekend. Disfrutala.

Untitled Documentary about House Music

Untitled House Music Documentary Extended Trailer - 3:45 from 32Thirteen on Vimeo.

Big ups to my boy Clutch to hitting me up with this one. This just reminded me of all the DJ´s we used to see when we started djing back in the 90´s and our roomate had a promotion company and Charles Feelgood was at our house. The many late nights seeing Mark Farina, and Derrick Carter. Also when I went back to the CHI and even before when I would sneak out of my house and go into the city to dance, we would go Monday night to see LEGO at Boom Boom Room....which has now changed from its original place in Red Dawgs. Crazy how time flies. Good times!! So I put this up to show love to House music....its a spiritual thing, a body thing, a soul thing.

31 July 2008

Blunts up and BLAZE !!

Yo! this is my joint right here. I am a huge Redman fan....yall know this....so seeing him buggin out in the smart car is WILD! HAHAHA....yo Doc holla atcha boy if you ever come south of the equator. I fucks wit cha!!

29 July 2008

Disperse

You know I heard this and it just made me realize something. I miss Santiago. I think I am going to be heading back there soon. This video and song are on hit. Consequence has been good since the days of beats rhymes and life. One of my favorite A Tribe Called Quest albums. Dont sleep on this one. And if you bussin down, then please disperse.

28 July 2008

TR2N

All I can say about this is WOOOH!! I love it when they do a sneak attack and work on something like this without us knowing until it is about to come out. Looks like they are doing a sequel to TRON. Now I might be dating myself but I can remember seeing this when I was a child on cable and thinking WOOOH! Now for them to be doing a sequel, and they gave it the orginal feel without going over the top with special effects. Now that is CRAZY!! I will be in the theaters for this one for sure!----

ps. sorry about the cam shot this is all there is about this movie. Super underground. me likes!!! :)

26 July 2008

High Times

I was on a Redman kick today and I came across this. This is mad funny. I would love to blaze one with the Funk Doc and reminisce on some of the craziest things that happened in our pasts. With buying herb, and running from the police.....ahhh the good old days of youth in ZI.... check this out.......Disfrutala

Set it off

Today was one of those days that I will remember for a long time. This video also is off the chain. I have been checking for Kardinall for a minute. People slept on him, but my girl Daniela didnt.....T.O.!! (hahaha....big up Daniela) anyway thought that I would put this up, because its dope as fuck, and it got the Clipse. Quoting Common..... "are you not entertained"? Crazy because I hadnt heard them in a minute--- side note...if you aint cop Hell Hath No Fury....you still sleeping.....and if you did pick that up.....then you know what the dilly is, and you gonna love this.

20 July 2008

Dilla Changed My Life

I can honestly say that I have been a serious fan of J Dilla/Jay Dee since the days of Runnin´by the Pharcyde. I have been keeping up with his career all the way until his death in 2006. He has had a profound effect on my production style and on my taste in hip hop. His beats brought the soul back to hip hop. I loved all the stuff he did with A Tribe Called Quest.....even saying that he was the 5th member of ATCQ. He will be deeply missed. This one is for Dilla. RIP

19 July 2008

DROP

Continuing on my old school phase, I was thinking about all of the concerts that I had went to, and the concert that I went to with the Pharcyde and the Roots was by far one of the best concerts I had ever been too. It was when Labcabincalifornia had came out....and Do you want more? for the Roots, so this might be 1995 (I´m dating myself hahaha) anyway besides it being one of the best concerts I had ever been to, they also inspired me to keep pursuing music and producing, so big up to Pharcyde and the Roots for that. I heard a rumor that they were in the studio putting together some new material. I really hope that is true, would be really nice to hear something new from the 4 of them.

Paper Thin

I have seriously been in the old school mood lately. If you tuned in to the show on WWW.CITYBEATRADIO.ORG then you know that the line up changed and that I now spin on Fridays from 4-6pm eastern. Also that I played a really old school house mix on the show, just bringing it back and showing love to the music that I grew up on, and that has influenced me. Here is a video from MC Lyte that to this day, I still adore. I love how it is in black and white and then the color just streams down. You gotta love that special effects!!! Anyway I hope you enjoy this as much as I do.

12 July 2008

Light Years

Whats going on? I was listening to some old Jamiroquai off the Return of the Space Cowboy album....which to me is their best album. Dont get me wong, all of their stuff is good, but Return of the Space Cowboy just captured it. That moment 1994. For me that was the year that I started smoking herb, and really looking at life and things in it. Plus the added fact that this video is with Jay Kay and crew snowboarding. And I have not had the chance yet to go snowboarding, I am hoping for a birthday gift I get snowboarding trip:) disfrutala. enjoy.

09 July 2008

House of Hee

This is from the film Paris is Burning. It is a film about the legendary Ball, and how it all got started back in the late 80´s in New York. I find this extremely fascinating because I can remember my first Ball that I went to. And with this video I have started my own house. The House of Hee. You better WORK!! Also this one is for me missing PRIDE this year being down here. Love and respect to all of ya´ll out there holding it down. Like Bahamadia says....it ain´t what you do, it´s how you do it.

Hero

I saw this a couple of days ago and this song has been stuck in my head. I have been into NAS since the days of Illmatic, which is one of my all time favorite Hip Hop albums. NAS still delivers. With the new album Untitle (N*GGER), that is out right now, and if you aint already got it, you late, and need to go cop that! But this is the first single off this contraversial album. Check out Keri Hilson also in the vid, and singing on the hook. One love.

08 July 2008

Where the cash at???

What good everyone?? All I can say about this track is that I saw this and I was like woah!! It brings back that party days and hanging out with friends. Riding around in the summer with the windows down and the tunes blastin´. The video is raw and I like the way it was shot. Brings back some of that old school shit. Despite the fact that he is flossin BIG time, the music to this is non stop. This also makes me wish he would work with DMX again, maybe help his boy out. I also found out the beat to this song was done originally by Lloyd Banks on a song called T0p 5. I would really go check that out, you know Banks is a killer on dope beats. So I hope that you enjoy this one.

04 July 2008

Need U Bad

What´s goin on?? It´s the 2for1 day today being that it is 4th of July and all. Anyway....I saw this video by Jazmine Sullivan and this is really off the hook. I have not really heard any new reggae in awhile, with me djing house and drum and bass, I have not been checking for any. Doing a weekly radio show is a lot of work, and there are a lot of tracks that I have to listen too every week. Anyway back to what I was saying, I heard this track and instantly fell in love with this. I miss this stuff. I know I always go on and on about back when so and so did something, but it is the truth. There are very few groundbreaking artists out there nowadays. Anyway, not saying that this is groundbreaking, but it does bring back memories of Lauryn Hill, or Queen Latifah. When there were strong Black women representing the masses. Much respect to Missy and Jazmine on this one. disfrutala. enjoy.

DIGI Tized

drama digital remix.mp3 - Mike Hee

what is going on everyone? Happy 4th for all of those in the States. Damn I got a taste for some BBQ. Let me stop getting all nostalgic. Anyway what I got for you guys today is a remix that I did for RZA off his album DIGI Snacks which is out right now....so go and cop that. The song is called Drama featuring Thea and Monk. It´s a really dope song talking about the hardships people go through and how through it all you just have to keep your head up and keep moving on. I don´t know what it was but I was really feeling this song. So I did a jungle remix of it. disfrutala. Enjoy

For all the RIDERS!!

With it being winter down here.....I seriously have that itch to ride. Now the only downside about being here in Buenos Aires is the fact that the mountains are so damn far away. Anyway.....I am in the midst of trying to make a trip south...(yeah further south :) and see if I cant scratch this itch that I have. So in the meantime I have put up the history of snowboarding, for those who didnt know. It is always good to know history. It give you a greater appreciation of how far someones idea has gone. Me.....I rode for the first time winter of 1997. I will never forget it. Big up to one of the coolest people on earth CLUTCH. He would always show me pics of places that he had gone.....Clutch has been riding for years.....since like the early 90´s. I met him in Atlanta when I lived there. We ended up being really good friends. Our love for the ¨green¨, drum and bass, and deep house.....keep us occupied during the summer months. But once winter rolled around what could we do? I took to my first slope in winter of 1997 at Beech Mountain, North Carolina. The Appalachian Mountains. It was icy as fuck, but from that first day.....I have been into it ever since. My first board was a Morrow 167. It was too small hahahahah. hey I didnt know. we bought our own boards and we bought them when they were on sale. Craziness. But from that I have been all over the world riding. It has become a serious passion of mine. Some people surf, some ride bicycles. I snowboard. Much love and respect to Mr. Sims and Mr. Burton for making it possible for me to enjoy gravity by sliding down the mountain side. Go big or go home!! NO resting only RIDING!!!

Eat to Live

I saw this video and I was really feeling what Kweli was doing on this one. Just like I have been always saying,.....this is Hip Hop. This is like that Dead Prez type joint.....but on a whole another tip. Kweli is always on time with his joints. Now we are just waiting on that Black Star joint and we will be set for a bit. I love it when Hip Hop goes back to its roots, about informing the people, about Edutainment.....Big up KRS-One for being the guide. Real Hip Hop is making its way back. Now that is what I love to hear. Peep this out......and check out In the Session with Mike Hee every Saturday from 2-4pm eastern on www.citybeatradio.org

The Punked OUT Session

The Punked OUT Session mixed by Mike Hee 06-28-08.mp3 - Mike Hee

What´s good?? Okay this one is really early, but I was excited about letting people here this one. This is off of the new series we are calling iSessions by Mike Hee. Been hearing a lot punk and rock music lately, which I am not complaiining about, it just makes it better when I hear hip hop again you know. So this mix is a mixture of some punk stuff and some house stuff. Its a nice mix. For my people in the Northern Hemisphere.....this would be a nice summertime mix to play at your cookouts or while going to work, or working out. Nice getting ready to go out music. For my people in the Southern Hemisphere.....this would be the 5am mix....that will keep ya going until 9. That stay warm music. Also being that this is PRIDE month I thought I would also put this one together for all of the family out there celebrating this weekend. Be Safe Babie!!! Hope you enjoy the mix!! Also check out www.citybeatradio.org every Saturday from 2-4pm eastern.

21 June 2008

Another step towards independence......

I don´t know what the deal is with me, but things happen, and I end of just doing what I should have done in first place. My parents would always say just go with your instincts, and with that being said, we have done it......The Session is now a full blown radio station. It was a long time coming, but it is coming together. Right now there is only The Session with Mike Hee every Saturday from 2-4pm eastern running alongside the www.citybeatradio.org show. but now you can listen here.....

http://isession.

we will be working getting a player up on the site where all you will have to do is just press the button, but you know, baby steps.....we are working it out as we go along.

Please stay tuned because there is a whole lot more coming........

20 June 2008

Never Die

This week has been really crazy. Monday was a holiday, and I spent the weekend on the west side of the city in a place called San Antonio de Padua. Saw a reggae band that was so on hit, but I cant remember their names right now......which really sucks. But I do remember I saw this video this week, and it brought back summertime in the states. It brought back memories of the 90´s when hip hop was still crossing new ground, and spoke about things close to home. This made me think about all the people I knew, who got shot and died, or shot and still made it through. Got me to thinking about life and how good it is to have it. I know I might be getting kinda deep but it really brought that out of me. Big ups to Young Chris and everyone involved with making this project. This is what Hip Hop needs......a new voice. Check out www.citybeatradio.org for the radio show every Saturday from 2-4pm eastern.

06 June 2008

The Rogue Junglist

What is going on everyone, we got the new mixtape up, which is called The Rogue Junglist. I put this one together for the show this weekend on www.citybeatradio.org, and I thought that I would put it out for everyone to check out. Being that it is winter here, and summer in the States, this would be the perfect mix for your car, or your ipod, or any mp3 device. It has smooth transitions and is a mix of the old and the new. I myself have been in a bit of a transition lately, moving and getting everything together. The move is official now and I am now in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Really looking forward to what this city has to offer and looking to explore every inch of it.....or centimeter that is. Hope you enjoy the mix.....drop us a line at inthesession@hotmail.com. Enjoy...disfrutala!!

03 June 2008

We need to bring it back......

I saw this video and heard this song and I was like WHOOOAAAHH!! Ya´ll should all get lynched (animated version) this video was banned from being played. This is the type of stuff that is missing in music today. Things that are thought provoaking, things that make you say....damn!! this muthafucka is on some shit!! you know what I am sayin?? I miss the days of listening to Public Enemy, and De La Soul, KRS-One, Del the Funky homosapien, and A Tribe Called Quest. This not only goes for hip hop, but for house, and drum and bass too. Somehow we lost our way, and money became the only goal. Whatever happened to making good music?? Whatever happened to making good art. Big up to NYOIL for this. This is where it is at. Enjoy. Oh and I got mixes coming for you, just been in between things, travelling and setting up shop, you know how we do.
