You know I heard this and it just made me realize something. I miss Santiago. I think I am going to be heading back there soon. This video and song are on hit. Consequence has been good since the days of beats rhymes and life. One of my favorite A Tribe Called Quest albums. Dont sleep on this one. And if you bussin down, then please disperse.

TR2N

All I can say about this is WOOOH!! I love it when they do a sneak attack and work on something like this without us knowing until it is about to come out. Looks like they are doing a sequel to TRON. Now I might be dating myself but I can remember seeing this when I was a child on cable and thinking WOOOH! Now for them to be doing a sequel, and they gave it the orginal feel without going over the top with special effects. Now that is CRAZY!! I will be in the theaters for this one for sure!----

ps. sorry about the cam shot this is all there is about this movie. Super underground. me likes!!! :)

I was on a Redman kick today and I came across this. This is mad funny. I would love to blaze one with the Funk Doc and reminisce on some of the craziest things that happened in our pasts. With buying herb, and running from the police.....ahhh the good old days of youth in ZI.... check this out.......Disfrutala

People slept on him, but my girl Daniela didnt.....T.O.!! (hahaha....big up Daniela) anyway thought that I would put this up, because its dope as fuck, and it got the Clipse. Quoting Common..... "are you not entertained"? Crazy because I hadnt heard them in a minute--- side note...if you aint cop Hell Hath No Fury....you still sleeping.....and if you did pick that up.....then you know what the dilly is, and you gonna love this.

Dilla Changed My Life

I can honestly say that I have been a serious fan of J Dilla/Jay Dee since the days of Runnin´by the Pharcyde. I have been keeping up with his career all the way until his death in 2006. He has had a profound effect on my production style and on my taste in hip hop. His beats brought the soul back to hip hop. I loved all the stuff he did with A Tribe Called Quest.....even saying that he was the 5th member of ATCQ. He will be deeply missed. This one is for Dilla. RIP

DROP

Continuing on my old school phase, I was thinking about all of the concerts that I had went to, and the concert that I went to with the Pharcyde and the Roots was by far one of the best concerts I had ever been too. It was when Labcabincalifornia had came out....and Do you want more? for the Roots, so this might be 1995 (I´m dating myself hahaha) anyway besides it being one of the best concerts I had ever been to, they also inspired me to keep pursuing music and producing, so big up to Pharcyde and the Roots for that. I heard a rumor that they were in the studio putting together some new material. I really hope that is true, would be really nice to hear something new from the 4 of them.

Paper Thin

I have seriously been in the old school mood lately. If you tuned in to the show on WWW.CITYBEATRADIO.ORG then you know that the line up changed and that I now spin on Fridays from 4-6pm eastern. Also that I played a really old school house mix on the show, just bringing it back and showing love to the music that I grew up on, and that has influenced me. Here is a video from MC Lyte that to this day, I still adore. I love how it is in black and white and then the color just streams down. You gotta love that special effects!!! Anyway I hope you enjoy this as much as I do.

Light Years

Whats going on? I was listening to some old Jamiroquai off the Return of the Space Cowboy album....which to me is their best album. Dont get me wong, all of their stuff is good, but Return of the Space Cowboy just captured it. That moment 1994. For me that was the year that I started smoking herb, and really looking at life and things in it. Plus the added fact that this video is with Jay Kay and crew snowboarding. And I have not had the chance yet to go snowboarding, I am hoping for a birthday gift I get snowboarding trip:) disfrutala. enjoy.

House of Hee

This is from the film Paris is Burning. It is a film about the legendary Ball, and how it all got started back in the late 80´s in New York. I find this extremely fascinating because I can remember my first Ball that I went to. And with this video I have started my own house. The House of Hee. You better WORK!! Also this one is for me missing PRIDE this year being down here. Love and respect to all of ya´ll out there holding it down. Like Bahamadia says....it ain´t what you do, it´s how you do it.

Hero

I saw this a couple of days ago and this song has been stuck in my head. I have been into NAS since the days of Illmatic, which is one of my all time favorite Hip Hop albums. NAS still delivers. With the new album Untitle (N*GGER), that is out right now, and if you aint already got it, you late, and need to go cop that! But this is the first single off this contraversial album. Check out Keri Hilson also in the vid, and singing on the hook. One love.

Where the cash at???

What good everyone?? All I can say about this track is that I saw this and I was like woah!! It brings back that party days and hanging out with friends. Riding around in the summer with the windows down and the tunes blastin´. The video is raw and I like the way it was shot. Brings back some of that old school shit. Despite the fact that he is flossin BIG time, the music to this is non stop. This also makes me wish he would work with DMX again, maybe help his boy out. I also found out the beat to this song was done originally by Lloyd Banks on a song called T0p 5. I would really go check that out, you know Banks is a killer on dope beats. So I hope that you enjoy this one.

Need U Bad

What´s goin on?? It´s the 2for1 day today being that it is 4th of July and all. Anyway....I saw this video by Jazmine Sullivan and this is really off the hook. I have not really heard any new reggae in awhile, with me djing house and drum and bass, I have not been checking for any. Doing a weekly radio show is a lot of work, and there are a lot of tracks that I have to listen too every week. Anyway back to what I was saying, I heard this track and instantly fell in love with this. I miss this stuff. I know I always go on and on about back when so and so did something, but it is the truth. There are very few groundbreaking artists out there nowadays. Anyway, not saying that this is groundbreaking, but it does bring back memories of Lauryn Hill, or Queen Latifah. When there were strong Black women representing the masses. Much respect to Missy and Jazmine on this one. disfrutala. enjoy.

DIGI Tized

drama digital remix.mp3 - Mike Hee

what is going on everyone? Happy 4th for all of those in the States. Damn I got a taste for some BBQ. Let me stop getting all nostalgic. Anyway what I got for you guys today is a remix that I did for RZA off his album DIGI Snacks which is out right now....so go and cop that. The song is called Drama featuring Thea and Monk. It´s a really dope song talking about the hardships people go through and how through it all you just have to keep your head up and keep moving on. I don´t know what it was but I was really feeling this song. So I did a jungle remix of it. disfrutala. Enjoy

For all the RIDERS!!

With it being winter down here.....I seriously have that itch to ride. Now the only downside about being here in Buenos Aires is the fact that the mountains are so damn far away. Anyway.....I am in the midst of trying to make a trip south...(yeah further south :) and see if I cant scratch this itch that I have. So in the meantime I have put up the history of snowboarding, for those who didnt know. It is always good to know history. It give you a greater appreciation of how far someones idea has gone. Me.....I rode for the first time winter of 1997. I will never forget it. Big up to one of the coolest people on earth CLUTCH. He would always show me pics of places that he had gone.....Clutch has been riding for years.....since like the early 90´s. I met him in Atlanta when I lived there. We ended up being really good friends. Our love for the ¨green¨, drum and bass, and deep house.....keep us occupied during the summer months. But once winter rolled around what could we do? I took to my first slope in winter of 1997 at Beech Mountain, North Carolina. The Appalachian Mountains. It was icy as fuck, but from that first day.....I have been into it ever since. My first board was a Morrow 167. It was too small hahahahah. hey I didnt know. we bought our own boards and we bought them when they were on sale. Craziness. But from that I have been all over the world riding. It has become a serious passion of mine. Some people surf, some ride bicycles. I snowboard. Much love and respect to Mr. Sims and Mr. Burton for making it possible for me to enjoy gravity by sliding down the mountain side. Go big or go home!! NO resting only RIDING!!!
